Dixieland Jazz to make your party go with a swing

This is a four piece traditional jazz band comprising trumpet, clarinet / soprano saxophone, banjo & sousaphone / bass saxophone. The band plays a mixture of well known traditional jazz, blues and popular music, mainly from the 1900s to 1940s in the New Orleans jazz style. They travel throughout the south of England including the Home Counties.

Their instruments are acoustic and they are not dependent on electricity, which makes them very versatile. They can perform outdoors or indoors as required. The band does not need a lot of space, and respects the client's views on the volume level; they do use amplification in concert type situations, for the occasional vocal and to talk to the audience.

The band has played music to entertain at parties, corporate receptions, dinner dances, parades, jazz festivals, concerts and funerals in venues as varied as hotels, village halls, marquees, yacht clubs, stately homes and ships. A typical wedding day could include the band playing gentle background music to entertain the guests on arrival at the wedding or wedding reception while the photos are being taken, then moving to the dance floor to play music for dancing at whatever tempo the guests want.

They can also lead the procession of wedding guests from the ceremony to the wedding reception. The band always present themselves in a smart uniform, usually striped blazers and if outside they wear boaters to give a 'twenties' look to set off the polished professional performance.
