Attractive and stylish harpist

Emma was born in north-west Devon and began studying the harp at the age of eleven. Early experience was gained through reaching the semi-finals of the BBC 'Young Musician of the Year Competition' in 1984 and 1986, and as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

She accepted a place at New College, Oxford where she received instrumental awards and completed her studies with a scholarship to the Royal College of Music. She received generous awards from both the Countess of Munster Music Trust and the Ian Fleming Charitable Trust, and has performed as a soloist for Music Societies throughout the UK under the auspices of the Countess of Munster Recital Scheme.

Emma was principal harpist with the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, and now plays co-principal harp at the Royal Opera House, a position she manages to combine with a busy freelance career of solo, chamber and orchestral work. She has played at a great variety of venues, including Kensington Palace, The House of Commons, The British Museum and The Royal Automobile Club.

She is available for corporate parties, weddings and functions both as a soloist and in a duo with flute. Her repertoire includes classical and easy listening styles.
