Harry started playing and entertaining at the age of eight, accompanying his father who played the button key accordion. His first instrument was the mandolin, followed quickly by guitar, penny whistle and harmonica. Even his vocal talents were in popular demand at parties and family gatherings. Harry's solo debut in public was in the Salutation Hotel in Perth at the age of sixteen and is still remembered with fond recollections.
Harry went on to play in various venues around the world in Ireland, England, Germany, Cyprus, Australia, Kuwait and Bosnia where he performed in a diverse range of venues from the Hilton Hotel in Kuwait City, the Stormont Hotel in Belfast, Working Men's Clubs, Folk Clubs and Festivals, pubs and village halls, tavernas and plazas.
Harry finally picked up the bagpipes at the tender age of thirty-eight, took to them like a duck to water and is now in great demand for weddings and dinners and other celebrations. He is able to provide a full evening of Scottish and Irish entertainment and his rendering of the Burns' Address to The Haggis is second to none.
A caller for Scottish Country dance is one more string to his bow and always produces a fun evening for all willing to participate. Harry is currently active in the music scene in Scotland and has many events booked all over the country but still regularly travels south to various venues in England.
