A wealth of experience, together with a wide-ranging and versatile repertoire, mean that Simon is in demand as an organist for weddings.
He was Organ Scholar at Chichester Cathedral from 1982 until 1985, before moving to become Director of Music and Assistant Organist at Reigate St. Mary's Choir School. Whilst there, Simon accompanied the choir for its daily services and in concerts, recordings and broadcasts. He also combined the post with that of Organist of St. Mary's Parish Church and accompanist to Reigate and Redhill Choral Society. Simon has undertaken tours of Ireland, Germany, Belgium and the most recently the USA where he performed at the Cathedral of St. John the Devine, New York and in the Cadet Chapel at West Point which houses one of the largest pipe organs in the world.
Now resident in Reading, Simon continues to be in demand as an organist, continuo player and choral accompanist, performing in cathedrals up and down the country. Simon is organist to the Orlando Singers (Bournemouth), the Sarum Consort Singers (Salisbury) and the Avebury Vocal Ensemble as well as a number of other choirs in and around Berkshire. He has been sub-organist of the Royal Memorial Chapel at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst since 2006 and in 2009 completed a recording cycle of four recordings with four choirs in four different locations.
