Versatile and exciting brass ensemble

This group was first established as a brass quintet in 1990 to enhance the musical content of important services and graduation ceremonies at Canterbury Cathedral. They now also perform both classical and jazz repertoire across the country at a variety of events as an 8-10 piece band which is ideally suited to large venues and dramatic settings, ensuring a truly memorable day.

As a quintet they have a reputation as a premier ensemble in the UK and abroad. They are established as resident ensemble on the Charterhouse Summer School of Music, giving recitals and master classes. Their input at Milton Abbey was described as 'gold dust, and a mountaintop experience for those taking part.'

The quintet's recital programme superbly illustrates the progressive development of the brass repertoire from Renaissance times to the present day. The larger brass ensemble provided spectacular fanfares at the Lambeth Conference and at the Enthronement of Dr Rowan Williams as Archbishop of Canterbury.

Seen and heard on BBC TV worldwide, this has led them to the battlements of ancient castles and magnificent cathedrals with particular success in Europe and the UK. They are now frequently asked to provide a range of similar experiences for Music Festivals, Choral Societies and Music Clubs and were recently featured on BBC Songs of Praise from Beaulieu Abbey and a live Easter broadcast from Canterbury Cathedral.

'Thank you so very much for your totally brilliant performance at our wedding. You played like a dream and everyone commented on your fine talent'
